Mission Possible Kids help others
Written: 11/30/2007 As their Oct. 27 salute to "Make a Difference Day," the national day of volunteering, more than 500 elementary-aged "agents" with MISSION POSSIBLE KIDS made a significant impact by helping 26,000 people. Agents from chapters in Texas, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and other states pulled together to show that children can make a difference in the world. Mission efforts included collecting food for food banks, making Thanksgiving baskets for the poor, preparing care packages and blankets for U.S. troops overseas, making gifts for hospitalized kids, raising scholarship money for kids in other countries, and a host of other projects. MISSION POSSIBLE KIDS is a nonprofit organization that began at Christ UMC, Plano, that empowers kids to change the world by helping others. New chapters have been springing up across the country over the last year with 15 United Methodist churches starting chapters in the NTC.
